Employee Engagement and Recognition
Highly engaged employees perform better, push harder and think bigger.
It’s been proven time and time again: the more engaged your employees are, the better they perform. Effectively engaging employees has its challenges when there are competing priorities. Fostering greater engagement requires an emotional connection, a passion and a recognition of accomplishment.
NIKE recognizes its employees throughout the year, but the most coveted recognition is to receive a Maxim award. Maxims are aligned with Nike’s five core values.
I led a team of six, which included myself, to concept, design and deliver a Maxims Award Marketing Campaign in less than four months. From influencing and aligning executives on the creative approach to pre-launch buzz building, digital nominations and voting, event showcases, athlete appearances, day-of event to post award measurement and review. Employees were at the center. Always.

My creative director designed the visual center and together, we pitched the concept to NIKE's CFO. The power of influence, flexibility and negotiation is key to accomplish an event that satisfies executive and employee wants and needs.

The digital aspect of this campaign was comprehensive. My creative team designed and programmed content using Wordpress. I led content creation, drafted all copy and executed employee communication through Campaign Monitor.

I worked with our Sports Marketing team to bring John McEnroe to the Nike campus in March 2019 as the guest athlete for the awards. This was two weeks prior to the U.S. going into lockdown for the pandemic. John was also honored with a dedication to a newly designed building with his namesake. The timing was well coordinated as Finance employees had just moved into the John McEnroe building.

My creative team designed and execute the physical experience as well as the award itself. I worked behind the scenes with all logistical partners to ensure a seamless employee experience.

These are just a few images of employee engagement before, during and after the event.
